Introducing the Old Testament
This class was last offered in the Winter 2006 St. Andrew Academy session.
To
many Christians, the Old Testament can seem just plain weird! All
that stuff about blood, sacrifice, rituals, dietary laws, and wars
of conquest can make the Old Testament very foreign to us. Yet,
without the Old Testament, much of the New Testament wouldn’t make
sense. The Old Testament was the Bible Jesus read! In this course,
we’ll learn how we can make sense of the Old Testament. We’ll see
how the story unfolds and it reveals to us God’s relentless pursuit
of his people. In this lecture-oriented class, we’ll also take a
close look at five books: Deuteronomy, Job, Psalms, Ecclesiastes,
and Micah.
